I learned to do Granny Squares with some odd colours of yarn. It all worked out, to my surprise and the blanket sold right away at a fund - raiser.
Second attempt - a baby gift. I was really pleased to produce another little blanket, which was appreciated. Perhaps this sort of thing is becoming a lost art, but who could resist something so traditional?
